Dr Rod Gutierrez - Senior Director, dss+
Dr Rod Gutierrez is a dual AHPRA-registered Australian medical doctor and psychologist, known internationally for his broad leadership in health and safety, cultural transformation and the application of human factors to work design. With deep expertise in complex systems and human performance, he has advised some of the world’s largest organisations on their most critical challenges.
A trusted coach to CEOs, senior executives and Vice Chancellors for over 25 years, Rod brings a strategic yet grounded approach to business optimisation. He has held senior roles across global corporations including DuPont and the Adecco Group. He served as Vice President of Health and Hygiene for Group HSE at BHP. And was Global Leader, Occupational Medicine/ Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Rio Tinto. He is currently Senior Director with DSS+, focused on all aspects of human sustainability.
Jackie Walsh - General Manager Safety & Wellbeing, Bunnings
Jackie has over 25 years experience in ASX200 organisations with demonstrated experience at a senior level developing, driving and implementing successful WHSE risk management strategies. Jackie is strategic, practical and results focused Manager with excellent leadership skills and proven success in cultural change. With the ability to shape and integrate safety and sustainability within business’ to ensure the successful achievement of exceptional performance.
A positive practical visible leader with excellent problem solving, negotiating and influencing skills to drive Business Managers to enhance and embrace a positive safety culture. Jackie has strong technical skills and practical understanding of best practice behavioural safety, sustainability and risk management techniques
Wade Needham - Director, ESG & EHS, Natural Resources APAC
Wade leads investment governance and sustainability for PSP Investments' Natural Resources portfolio across Australia and New Zealand, covering agricultural, horticultural, and post-farm gate assets. He is PSP's board nominee to Perfection Fresh and oversees non-financial governance across the portfolio, including climate risk and ASRS S2 disclosure readiness, human rights and supply chain governance, and a whole-of-person safety framework spanning physical safety, harassment, discrimination, and psychosocial risk.
With 15+ years across heavy industry, construction, mining EPCM, and institutional capital, Wade's thesis is that non-financial governance quality is a leading indicator of management quality, capital discipline, and long-term asset value.
